I write this at 3 in the afternoon, New Years Eve, so WHO KNOWS what kind of stuff I’d get into in the next 9 hours. A new site launch? A twitter argument? I’m personally hoping for a good nap.
In any case, here’s my 2008 in a chronological list format.
- Jan – New job: I’m working right next to Pike Place Market… it’s pretty cool, despite the lack of fast food options.
- Feb – 5 years: This month marked the 5th year Nicole and I have been together.
- Mar – New MacBook Pro: So awesome. Also, iPhone SDK came out, I applied, but was not accepted into the early developer program, unfortunately.
- Apr – 2 years:
This month marked our 2nd year of marriage.
We went to Leavenworth, where I grew up.Wait. We went downtown for lunch and a walk around the waterfront. Leavenworth was last year. - May – New House:
We moved into our new place (still renting (wisely)) in
MayApril but due to a funeral Nicole flew to Guam to attend, we didn’t really unpack until May. It’s a 3 bedroom, 2 story place, with a garage and fenced in yard. It’s awesome. We did, however, fly to Colorado Springs and met up with some friends we hadn’t seen in years. - Jun – Nicole’s 28th: Nicole turned 28 this month. Also, I launched http://stevejobsfacts.com and http://nowitsupto.us this month.
- Jul – Niki’s 6th: She turned 6 this month. My brother came over and visited for a few days. It was pretty cool. Also, I was finally accepted into the iPhone dev program
- Aug – New iPhone: I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen. I officially had it for 11 months. I ended up buying a second iPhone and getting the first one replaced, so Nicole joined the ranks of the iPhone addicts.
- Sep – My 30th: I turned 30 on the 11th. Oh yeah, I also started http://iedeathmarch.org
- Oct – Maeby’s 2nd: The baby turned 2 this month. Also, this month was pretty much just dripping with politics.
- Nov – New President: Yay! I managed to convince a few people that casting their vote for Obama would be worth it. Also, I launched http://seatwitter.com – basically a twitter group site for Seattle Locals (follow http://twitter.com/seatwittah if you want in). There will be more to this concept. Stay tuned.
- Dec – New Concept: I took a good chunk of time off this month and visited with family in Spokane. Also, managed to launch http://ifxtheny.com in the mean time. Vacation: am I doin’ it right?
So… those are what I can come up with in the last 15 minutes. Also, of note, these are the projects that I publicly announced. I still have a few things up my sleeves, so stay tuned.
Also noteworthy, in a week, I will have worked at my current day job for a year. If you know me, you’ll know this is epic. Also consider, I’ve been working at Wizards of the Coast for a year and a few months already. Before moving to Seattle (but after moving from Guam), the longest I’ve stayed at one company has been exactly one year. On Guam, I had worked at the Pacific Daily News for two years, before I moved on.
