Remember in September of 2008 when McCain published “The One”? It was argued that McCain was insinuating that Obama is the antichrist.
Talking Points Memo compiled clips of CNN getting in on the action; there’s even a blog dedicated to the topic (probably several blogs out there).
If it turns out they’re right, we’ll probably have to amend the constitution as it currently reads:
The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.1
I’m pretty sure being the antichrist isn’t treason, a high crime or misdemeanor, unless trying to bring about the End of Days could be considered treason. If so, then let’s just say I’m glad Obama is shutting down the prison facilities at Guantánamo.
