]]> I decided to release my Twitter-based map after playing around with it in one of my upcoming projects.

This site basically tries to figure out where you are through various methods and fallbacks, does a search on Twitter and plots recent and geocoded tweets onto a map.

Caveat: Currently, the latest WebKit nightlies automatically refuse to return a geolocation, but the shipping version of Safari should work. I tested in Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and IE 8 & 7.

Anyone deserving of the nerd or geek moniker should see the potential in a device like the iPad, especially if they have family. Ask yourself, "How many hours of tech support have I done over holidays?"

]]> Remember when Google announced their behavioral tracking feature for their ads (or as they call it "interest-based advertising") a few months back? No? Well, go read up on it and come back... I'll wait.

  • Telecommunications - Mobile & Wireless - Mobile Phones

Or to summarize: I'm a developer, building social networking sites on a Mac, listening to music (mostly of the "rock" genre) with an interest in mobile phones.

That's... about right. You can check what Google thinks about you in your ad preferences.1
